Isn’t it great that sometimes everything is getting along just fine?

When you live your life too orderly, you just can’t chill out until everything is in place. Every single point on your checklist must be crossed out before you get into your bed. All assignments are done, house cleaned, bills paid, clothes washed, supper’s ready, you’re gathered around with your loved ones to watch your favorite TV show. It seems a blissful picture. But we can’t quite relax. We think “something is wrong.” There has to be something here I need to “fix”.

As people who do too much, we like to think that there is nothing we can’t make just a little bit better, no situation we can’t improve upon. Nothing is beyond our range; we’re always busy, tired out, preparing for next performances, or even “act” before the performance.

But we need to learn to let well enough alone. When we try to mend what doesn’t need fixing, we may end up creating more problems than we solve.
